Website Editor that Lets You Put Anything Anywhere on the Screen.

29 Jul

I’m sure many webmasters would laugh at this editor, but honestly when I have a customer that MUST HAVE THAT SINGLE “D . T” RIGHT THERE, then this is my fall back editor.

I’ve found that many Chamber of Commerce executives appreciate SIMPLICITY and when it comes to website editing it is really important.

Homestead.Com was purchased by Intuit several years ago and made many solid improvements from the ten years I have been a customer.

Unless you are a very small Chamber of Commerce, I would not recommend this as a full website builder.  But for additional pages that your main website can link too, or for custom event website pages with lots of beautiful graphics that must be placed just right… this makes it easy for anyone.

The Worst Teacher I Ever Had

26 Jul

Timken Roller Bearing Co., calendar, September 1950, teacher at desk

This is an interesting question that I’ll have answer with the name Arda (R……….y) keep her last name semi-private. I grew up in La Honda California which was a very small town and in the 60′s we even rode horses to school at times. Although I went to a one room school house (at a church) where you would think a good education would be… It wasn’t for me. I was in 3rd grade, but the teacher, a great lady, all she taught was science. I still needed all the basics in the 3rd grade, but nope you were getting science!

Oh… the school lasted one year and then the church closed it down.

I think everyone loved Arda and I did too.  Today I actually make use of a lot of her science knowledge, so maybe she was okay after all?

Chamber Search Engine©

25 Jul

Chambers of Commerce are the “Most Trusted Source for Local Information” and for this reason the Chamber is positioned perfectly to become the OFFICIAL Area Search Engine for the entire region that they serve.

In order to do this a “full on” technology approach must be accepted by the Chamber Executive and the Board Members.  In about six months from date of launch the Chamber will notice a great deal of changes in how they are accessed and used by the public and the members.

Once members begin to see their prospect numbers improve, they begin to quickly view the Chamber of Commerce as one of their most efficient marketing programs for their business.

We’ll be happy to show you how this is now benefiting Chambers throughout the country.

Grant Approved for Chester Lake Almanor Chamber of Commerce

24 Jul

Nice Job Susan!

Susan Bryner is the President of the Chester Lake Almanor Chamber of Commerce in California and she successfully secured a Going Green Community Grant for her community.

What this means is that the Chamber was able to hire several students from the Feather River College’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) program to help their members reduce energy use and increase their recycling activities.

Amy Schulz, MBA is the leader of the SIFE program and implemented the Chamber Nation automation to track optimization levels throughout the community and to automate the record keeping for the grant requirements.
